The Role: Emcee

Previous hosting or audio technical knowledge is not a prerequisite. Comprehensive paid training will be conducted following the acceptance of a formal offer.

Serving as a KAR Emcee involves infusing each event with vibrant energy, structure, and engaging presence. We seek flexible, dynamic individuals who thrive in a team, enjoy traveling, interacting with children and their families, and ensuring our programs are enjoyable and operate efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who is lively, detail-oriented, and enjoys being the public voice of an event.

Key Duties

• Assist with the setup and dismantling of event equipment.
• Prepare and verify all audio gear; conduct microphone sound checks.
• Announce acts and interact with performers and spectators in an upbeat manner.
• Manage audio board levels for microphones, tablets, and computers.
• Uphold the event timeline to ensure smooth progression between segments.
• Highlight tour merchandise during intermissions.
• Maintain clear communication with crew using provided radios.
• Travel is necessary, typically from Thursday evening through Monday morning.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Capable of performing in fast-paced settings and resolving technical problems.
• Committed team member with a constructive outlook.
• Touring or broadcast background is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to remain seated for extended durations (approximately 30 to 60 hours per weekend).
• Must have full availability for travel from Thursday to Monday.
• Must possess a current government-issued ID or Passport.

Pay and Schedule

Compensation varies with experience, ranging from $200 to $1000 per event.

Alternatively, an hourly rate of $16 to $18 applies.

The season commences in February 2026.
