Seeking a native Mandarin-speaking governess.

The ideal candidate will be engaging, dynamic, respectful, mature, and possess significant experience.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Master\'s or Doctorate degree in Education, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university.
  • Possess a minimum of 12 years of paid, full-time professional experience working with children as a school teacher or private governess, in addition to having raised your own children. Preference is given to candidates demonstrating longevity in a single full-time role (6+ years) over multiple short-term positions.
  • Capable of attending to all aspects of a young child\'s care.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid. Must have a current TB vaccination.
  • Own a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver\'s license.
  • Ability to sing in tune.
  • Must be in excellent physical health with no allergies, injuries, or chronic conditions.
  • Able to perform physical tasks including sprinting, lifting children, jumping, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Committed to residing in the Los Angeles area for at least the next decade.
  • Inherently skilled at prioritization and collaborate effectively with other adults.
  • Have a background as a student-athlete for a minimum of two years.

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction in Mandarin Chinese, encompassing reading and writing.
  • Teach mathematics, science, chess, and cooking.
  • Instruct in social-emotional learning and proper etiquette.
  • Engage in play with the children.
  • Establish and maintain a structured, age-appropriate daily routine.
  • Manage all child-related needs: meal service, playtime, toilet training, diaper changes, bathing, naps, field trips, and playdates.
  • Participate in swimming and outdoor physical activities (e.g., soccer, basketball, ninja courses, running games).
  • Cultivate a nurturing, organized, stimulating, and child-safe environment.

About the Children:

The position involves caring for a 2-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. The children are not currently Mandarin speakers. The primary objective of this role is to develop their fluency to a native level.
