MCS is currently seeking full-time Line and Prep Cooks with prior experience. Our culinary team members play a key role in our operation\'s success by preparing all menu items to exact specifications. The primary duties involve cooking all dishes assigned to their station and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace on the line.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently prepare high-quality food in a timely manner, adhering strictly to company recipes and standards.
  • Turn or stir foods to promote even cooking.
  • Season and cook food according to established recipes or based on professional judgment and experience.
  • Evaluate food for proper doneness using methods such as tasting, smelling, or testing with utensils.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients as required by recipes or judgment, utilizing appropriate kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at your assigned workstation and throughout the kitchen.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving zones to ensure compliance with safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Adhere to all guidelines regarding portion sizes, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Estimate food consumption needs, requisition supplies, and retrieve items from storage.
  • Set up the line according to kitchen guidelines and predetermined par sheets.
  • Verify that all kitchen equipment is in working order.
  • Restock station supplies to designated par levels.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are present at the station.
  • Memorize all ingredients and portion sizes for menu items.
  • Properly wrap, date, and store food in refrigeration.
  • Sanitize cutting boards regularly.
  • Keep station shelves organized.
  • Hand-clean all knives.
  • Participate in and complete line checks to guarantee the quality of served products.
  • Assist in cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
  • Wash hands frequently throughout the shift.
  • Handle all kitchen utensils, knives, and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, employing positive communication at all times.
  • Clean, stock, and maintain the line area continuously during the shift.
  • Follow all established safety and sanitation policies without exception.

This position is located at Burbank Airport. The United States Government will conduct a 10-year background investigation to determine eligibility for obtaining a workplace security badge.
