About This Job

We are looking for a dependable and meticulous Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaning Technician to conduct comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen hood and ventilation systems, ensuring adherence to NFPA 96 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute full cleaning of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, covering the interior and exterior of hoods, filters, ductwork, exhaust fans, and roof-mounted fan units.
  • Record all completed work using before and after photographs.
  • Affix certification stickers and fill out service reports as required by NFPA.
  • Examine system components for grease accumulation, potential fire hazards, and any necessary repairs.
  • Safely operate pressure washers, degreasing agents, and associated equipment.
  • Work overnight or early morning shifts as required, which is typical for restaurant settings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hood cleaning is advantageous.
  • Must be capable of working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Possession of a valid driver\'s license and consistent transportation.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 96 standards, or a readiness to learn them.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a dedication to high-quality work.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior background in commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning.
  • Familiarity with pressure-washing equipment.
  • OSHA safety training certification.
  • Ability to diagnose issues with fan motors, belts, and ductwork.
