Seeking Female Caregiver for Wife at Home (Lincoln Heights)

I am seeking to hire an additional full-time or part-time female caregiver for my cheerful wife. The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays, Sundays, and potential overnight shifts.

My wife is 61 years old and suffered a major stroke seven years ago. She now uses a wheelchair and has lost her ability to speak, though she can communicate through writing. She requires assistance with daily living activities.

Before her stroke, my wife was vibrant and energetic. She remains kind-hearted, possesses a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoys a range of interests, including films and music such as R&B, jazz, soul, and pop.

The ideal candidate will be exceptionally patient, compassionate, adaptable to different moods, have a good sense of humor, and maintain a generally positive attitude.

Applicants must have prior caregiving experience, with a preference for those familiar with post-stroke recovery or similar conditions. You must be capable of operating an electric Hoyer lift for transfers between the bed and wheelchair and be able to assist with light exercises. Cooking ability is essential. Some knowledge of holistic health and various healing practices would be beneficial.

The candidate should also be interested in aiding and motivating my wife with her exercises and activities.

Reliability, honesty, and dependability are essential, along with a clean background check.

I can offer flexible scheduling. Compensation begins at $18 per hour, negotiable based on relevant experience.
