Summary
A prestigious boutique law firm specializing in entertainment litigation is looking for a mid-level associate with three to five years of experience. The chosen candidate will manage a stimulating and complex caseload, with ample opportunity for professional growth into a leading attorney within a supportive and collaborative workplace.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with witnesses and clients to collect pertinent facts and case information.
- Perform legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law in preparation for trials and court proceedings.
- Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and pleadings, adhering to relevant procedural and evidentiary rules.
- Handle depositions and assemble discovery materials such as subpoenas, interrogatories, and requests for document production.
- Formulate settlement agreements based on client and attorney consultations.
- Finalize legal documents for submission to courts or administrative agencies.
- Draft motions for summary judgment and other post-trial motions to seek case dismissal.
- Examine documents for legal adequacy and assist in crafting responses to discovery requests from opposing counsel.
- Engage in preparation for and participation in depositions, settlement conferences, and various court proceedings.
- Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Requirements
- Must achieve a yearly billable hours target of 1750, which is subject to adjustment.
- Judicial clerkship and prior experience at a major law firm are advantageous.
- Superior verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in all stages of discovery, including the taking and defending of depositions.
- Involvement as a junior member of a trial team.
