Capitol Recruiters Inc. is currently conducting a search for Senior Staff Attorney positions on behalf of a premier law firm client. These are remote roles; however, applicants are required to reside within a commutable distance to one of the firm\'s offices located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Palo Alto, California.
Position Overview
The primary responsibility of these roles is to oversee teams of Staff Attorneys and contract attorneys engaged in the discovery phase of substantial litigation, investigatory, and regulatory matters.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of document review supervisory experience, either as a Staff Attorney or with a legal services vendor.
Senior Staff Attorneys ensure that review teams fulfill quality and productivity standards and act as the key point of contact between the review team and the associates or partners managing the cases. They may also conduct document review and analysis tasks themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise document review teams to promote efficient work practices and adherence to quality and output benchmarks.
- Facilitate clear communication between the document review team and the case associates or partners.
- Collaborate with the litigation support group and eDiscovery vendors to address and resolve database and review system issues for end users.
- Review, analyze, and categorize documents and information within online document review databases or physical document collections.
- Support quality control procedures for reviews and the reporting of review metrics.
- Assist in the preparation of privilege logs and related documentation tasks.
Position Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited United States law school.
- Minimum of three years of document review supervisory experience within an AMLAW 100 or 200 firm, specifically on large-scale litigation.
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and project coordination skills, with a strong service orientation.
- Ability to work overtime and assist colleagues on projects with pressing deadlines.
- Substantial prior experience with discovery document review projects and standard workflows.
- Proficiency with online document review platforms such as Relativity or Nuix Discover.
- Fluency in a language other than English is a preferred, but not mandatory, qualification.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position begins at $130,000. This is complemented by paid overtime (estimated between $40,000 and $50,000), an annual bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
