The Quality Assurance Manager and HACCP Coordinator will be directly accountable for the upkeep of all HACCP documentation. This encompasses the oversight of all Critical Control Points (CCPs), preventative control documentation, and the monitoring of records for any deviations from established CCPs. The role entails maintaining all documents related to the HACCP plan and Quality Systems, ensuring all programs and policies are up-to-date with Regulatory agency (USDA) and SQF standards. The individual in this position must complete assignments promptly and will be driven to consistently pursue enhancements to standards and processes by carrying out the duties outlined below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To execute this role successfully, an individual must be capable of performing the following tasks:
- Examine all Critical Control Point monitoring and verification records to confirm adherence to HACCP critical limits and required frequencies as specified by the HACCP plan.
- Assess all records for precision and thoroughness, identifying opportunities for process refinement.
- Assist in creating and executing training programs for HACCP, GMP, SQF, allergen control, glass control, SSOPs, SOPs, and all necessary plant programs.
- Conduct mock recalls and verify that the identification, labeling, and traceability systems operate as intended.
- Organize and lead HACCP team meetings and mandated HACCP reviews.
- Ensure all food safety-related documents and records are properly managed and that the latest versions are in active use.
- Stay updated on food safety legislation and regulations.
- Guarantee compliance with company, customer, regulatory, and consumer quality standards.
- Supports the Quality Assurance team and provides guidance in managing quality systems across all departments.
- Contributes to the development of Quality Technicians by mentoring them on HACCP and SQF programs.
- Engages in the SQF program, supervises facility adherence to customer quality initiatives, and supports third-party and customer audits.
- Collaborates closely with USDA inspectors.
- Develops and evaluates statistical data and product specifications to assess current standards and establish projected quality and reliability targets for finished products.
- Formulates and sustains quality control objectives that align with corporate policies and goals.
- Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in audit participation and helps manage HACCP and SSOP programs.
- Designs and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
- Will provide support as needed to perform checks on the following: Scales, production line setups, line quality control operations, ingredients, product codes, accuracy of lot numbers, and inventory of USDA-regulated items.
- Provides assistance and training for USDA pre-operational inspections.
