If you adore dogs and are seeking some canine companionship this holiday season, would you consider providing a temporary home for a large dog for several weeks or more?

Ace of Hearts is a non-profit dog rescue organization located in Los Angeles dedicated to saving dogs from shelters and offering them a fresh start.

We are seeking compassionate individuals to serve as temporary foster homes for our rescued dogs while we search for their permanent families. As our dogs come from shelter environments, some may have experienced trauma and require caregivers who can offer security, comfort, and reassurance. Witnessing a shy or fearful dog gradually place its trust in you is an immensely rewarding experience, just as receiving unwavering affection from a confident dog can be. Your role involves providing affectionate care and sharing updates on the dog\'s personality, while we supply all necessary items including a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies, and veterinary care.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTERS WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE HANDLING DOGS AND WHO ARE AT EASE WITH LARGE BREEDS.

Meet Logan: A three-year-old Border Collie and Labrador mix. He is currently awaiting leg surgery and therefore requires limited exercise. He would do best as the sole pet in a household.

Participating in our foster program is a deeply fulfilling endeavor. You contribute directly to the rehabilitation of dogs who were once facing euthanasia at the shelter, granting them a renewed opportunity for adoption. Our fosters are genuine lifesavers.

Requirements for fostering:

  • You must be at least 21 years of age. If younger, parental approval is required.
  • You must be available to foster from December 17 through January 10.
  • You must have dependable transportation and be willing to take the dog to our designated veterinarian for any necessary appointments.
  • You must be comfortable with large dog breeds. We primarily rescue bully breeds, and most of our dogs weigh between 50 and 90 pounds. Please do not respond if you can only accommodate small dogs.
  • Your home must not have children under the age of 10, cats, or other dogs. Please do not inquire if you have children, cats, or other dogs.
  • You must have already obtained approval from all relevant parties such as landlords, property managers, or spouses. Please do not reply without this approval.

If you have any questions, please get in touch. Your assistance helps us save lives.

Please include your phone number and personal email address in your response so we can contact you. WE WILL NOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE A PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS.

Thank you for your time and compassion. With the support of our foster caregivers, we can rescue more dogs and help each of these sweet animals secure a second chance at a happy life.
