Regular Ass Candles (www.regularcandles.com) is a small-batch candle maker with a distinctive character. Our identity is founded on humor, high quality, and clever, gay-themed product narratives. We are seeking a charismatic and sales-oriented individual to serve as the public representative of our brand at weekend pop-up markets and special events.
This role involves more than passively minding a booth. We require a dynamic person who understands our brand, appreciates the humor, and is driven to achieve sales.
Responsibilities
As the Pop-Up Market Sales Associate, you will be the sole representative for Regular Ass Candles at events. Your main objective is to promote sales and embody the brand.
- Serve as the Brand Ambassador: Proactively interact with customers, communicate our brand story, describe the (amusing) products, and cultivate a friendly and enjoyable booth environment.
- Manage Full Event Logistics:
- Collect products, the 10x10 canopy tent, and all booth supplies from a designated central point.
- Drive to the event location and transport all materials to the assigned booth space.
- Assemble the entire booth, including the pop-up tent, tables, displays, and merchandise.
- Operate the booth for the full duration of the event (typically 8-9 hours total).
- Completely dismantle the booth, pack all materials, and return them.
- Handle Sales Transactions: Confidently process all sales (both cash and card) using our Shopify card reader, which will connect to your personal smartphone.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A Born Salesperson: You are outgoing, take initiative, and sincerely enjoy conversing with people. You are comfortable initiating dialogue and are motivated by earning sales commission.
- Exceptionally Dependable and Punctual: This is an absolute requirement. As the only person managing the event, we are relying on you completely.
- Understands Our Brand Personality: You have reviewed our website. You grasp the humor, are at ease with it, and are enthusiastic about selling a product with an inclusive, bold, and witty (and gay!) character.
- A Resourceful Problem-Solver: You can manage the unpredictable nature of a pop-up event and adapt quickly.
- A Fast Learner: You can rapidly familiarize yourself with our product range and the straightforward point-of-sale system.
- Experience: Prior background in retail, sales, or as a brand ambassador is a significant advantage.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver\'s license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle (sufficiently spacious to carry a folding table and multiple storage bins of products).
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying bins weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to remain standing for prolonged periods (8-9 hours).
- Must have availability for occasional weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays) for the remainder of the year.
- Must own a functional smartphone (iPhone or Android) to pair with our card reader.
- Must be fluent in English.
