Successful applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory; an associate degree in Biology or a similar discipline is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting is desirable.
  • Competence in data entry and the use of computer software.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic workplace.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and spoken.
  • Solid knowledge of aseptic laboratory procedures.
  • Capacity to routinely lift items weighing up to 30 pounds above waist height.
  • Capacity to occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds above waist height.
  • A valid United States driver\'s license and a clear driving history, which must include no at-fault accidents within the past five years. This record must satisfy ongoing motor vehicle risk standards, confirmed through continuous Motor Vehicle Record reviews.

Position Responsibilities

The role involves the secure and timely transportation of customer samples to the laboratory according to a set route; sanitizing and upkeep of coolers used for sample delivery; preparing and conducting quality checks on various culture medias; processing samples; entering data and maintaining records; managing inventory; and performing additional tasks as needed.

Compensation and Schedule

The hourly wage for this role ranges from $19.00 to $21.00. This is a part-time position requiring 20 to 30 hours per week, with a adaptable schedule. Operations occur from Monday to Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM. Benefits include accrued paid sick leave at a rate of one hour for every thirty hours worked, up to forty hours per year, and eligibility for a 401(k) plan. Part-time staff working an average of more than thirty hours per week during an initial five-month evaluation period may qualify for medical insurance after six months.
