In-House Security - Full-Time, Works Weekends (Los Angeles)

This role is situated within a dynamic and multifaceted educational setting. We are seeking a full-time Public Safety Officer. The Department of Public Safety collaborates closely with the Maintenance and Food Services Departments, and its personnel may occasionally provide support to these units to ensure service delivery aligns with the institution\'s requirements.
Weekend Work Requirement
All positions within this department require work on both Saturday and Sunday.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Safety Officer\'s key duties encompass, but are not restricted to, the following:
- Act as a primary responder to emergencies occurring on school grounds.
- Conduct regular patrols of secured zones.
- Deliver assistance and information to students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Address and de-escalate disruptive incidents.
- Prevent criminal activity.
- Inspect campus areas for safety violations and potential hazards.
- Verify the proper inspection status of security and fire suppression systems.
- Uphold regulations governing parking, visitor access, and general conduct.
- Support physical security and personal safety initiatives.
- Safeguard faculty, staff, students, parents, and visitors from theft, harm, or injury.
- Protect individuals from dangers or disturbances, including potential workplace violence.
- Perform cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and servicing of assigned equipment.

- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A history free of criminal convictions.
- BSIS Guard Card certification is advantageous.
- Outstanding teamwork and planning abilities.

- Willingness and availability to work weekends and holidays.
- A valid driver\'s license with a clean record.
- Capability to comprehend procedural manuals and similar documents.

- Familiarity with standard computer software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and email applications.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a preferred, though not mandatory, skill.
Available Shifts
Day Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- One opening with scheduled days off on Monday and Tuesday. Work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday.
- One opening with scheduled days off on Wednesday and Thursday. Work schedule is Friday through Tuesday.
Swing Shift: 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- One opening with scheduled days off on Monday and Tuesday. Work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday.
- One opening with scheduled days off on Wednesday and Thursday. Work schedule is Friday through Tuesday.
