Software Engineer – Classically Trained, Drastically AI-Enabled (LA Area Only)

AI4IP is a compact startup team of six, dedicated to developing advanced generative AI solutions tailored for expert AI users, athletic organizations, and commercial brands.

Position: Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer who possesses a solid foundation in classical computer science and is profoundly augmented by artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will have robust fundamentals and now leverages tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and personalized AI configurations to build with greater speed and intelligence.

This role involves joining a small, high-caliber team where you will significantly influence our platform\'s architecture, infrastructure, and strategic direction. The position is primarily remote; however, regular in-person meetings are required. Therefore, all applicants must be located in the Los Angeles region.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack systems utilizing Python, TypeScript, React, and large language models.
• Operate across backend services, AI integration, and context-engineering layers.
• Deliver products rapidly and refine them through iterative development.
• Continuously adapt and personalize your AI development environment to enhance productivity.
• Work in close partnership with colleagues in product, design, and creative roles.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in computer science principles, including data structures, system architecture, and software systems.
• Proven experience with Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Familiarity with LLMs, their APIs, and the practice of context engineering.
• A track record of shipping complete, end-to-end products.
• Must be based in Los Angeles or Southern California, despite the remote-primary nature of the role.
• A genuine enthusiasm for employing AI tools to accelerate and improve coding.
