Class A Driver Needed As Soon As Possible (Los Angeles)

California Posted 1 month ago transport

About This Job

Hello,

I am seeking to employ one or two drivers for my business.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, a 401k plan, and additional perks. Further details are provided below.

To apply, please submit a resume detailing your work history. If you do not have a resume, you may email us to request an application form.

Requirements

Our insurance policy mandates that all drivers possess a minimum of three years of Class A commercial driving experience.

Available Positions

We currently have openings for the following routes:

  • Route #1: Los Angeles to Kansas (Various Cities)
Ideal candidates will reside near the I-10 or I-40 corridors in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, or Kansas.
  • Route #2: Los Angeles to Seattle
This role is suitable for drivers located anywhere along Interstate 5 between Los Angeles and Seattle, including California, Oregon, or Washington.
  • Route #3: Los Angeles to Denver, Colorado

Job Details and Schedule

Each route follows the same schedule weekly. The schedule is highly flexible, designed to allow you to reset at home each week, typically on weekends.

We prefer candidates living near the interstate connecting the route locations. We will arrange a secure location for you to store the tractor and trailer during your weekly reset.

For example, a driver based in Portland would start at home, drive to Seattle to collect a load, deliver it to our facility in Los Angeles, then return with a load to the Portland area before resetting. This pattern repeats each week.

For those desiring variety, we can occasionally incorporate runs to the Midwest.

Our Operational Philosophy

This is a consistent, weekly run. As we transport our own products, you will never be delayed waiting for a backhaul load. If a backhaul is unavailable, you return empty.

My primary goal in operating this trucking company is not profit, but to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of my products. Consequently, I manage operations differently than most over-the-road companies.

Pay and Benefits

  • Most importantly, pay is hourly, with overtime after 8 hours.
  • You are paid weekly.
  • Annual earnings, based on experience, range from $75,000 to $90,000. This figure represents actual take-home wages and excludes the value of benefits.

I encourage my drivers to operate slowly and safely, with ample time to maintain their equipment. There is no need for stress.

  • If you are waiting at a cold storage facility, relax—you are on the clock.
  • If a trailer breaks down in a remote area and you must wait for a technician, relax—you are on the clock.

Additionally, I cover the cost of a hotel room for every night you are on the road. While you may use the sleeper berth, I believe drivers are better rested and safer when staying in a hotel.

I also provide a daily meal allowance for overnight trips.

Drivers receive a company credit card and an ATM card for cash, enabling you to handle any roadside issues immediately without waiting for dispatch authorization or ComChecks. I trust you to take care of what needs to be done.

I pay for all necessary supplies, including gloves, phone cables, headsets, tools, vests, boots, and any other items required to perform your job safely and effectively.

Company Culture

As a smaller company, you have direct access to me, the owner. If any issues arise, you can call my cell phone 24/7, rather than contacting a dispatch agent who may not have answers.

Our fleet consists of 2022 or newer Freightliner Cascadias with automatic transmissions. Drivers who stay with us for several years may choose their preferred vehicle.

Final Notes

This is an excellent opportunity with ample time off and schedule flexibility. In the past six years, I have not had a single driver resign. I am happy to put you in touch with my current drivers so you can hear firsthand if this position is a good fit.

If you are interested, please email me at trucks@jaemar.com. I will schedule a call to discuss the opportunity further.

I receive many applications for this role and apologize if I cannot speak with you personally. Please do not take it personally; there are simply not enough hours in the day to respond to every inquiry.
