About This Service

For three decades, Ms. Sandy has instructed learners from first grade to adult levels in reading and comprehending English. She employs proven techniques such as phonics, syllabication, memorization, pronunciation, and contextual understanding during her online reading sessions. Together with her students, she develops vocabulary lists and utilizes visual cues to help them grasp and remember word meanings.

Under her supportive direction, students soon discover that reading is a highly attainable skill. It is a gradual journey, and as she guides them through it, they become more at ease and enjoy the process. She introduces new concepts when they are prepared and uses consistent practice to solidify their learning. The necessary grammar rules for proficient reading are also part of her instruction.

Her primary objective is to foster self-assurance in her students, and she consistently accomplishes this aim.

Fee Structure

• $50 per hour
• $75 for 90 minutes

Weekly or bi-weekly lessons are arranged at the start of each month. Payment is handled via Zelle, either at each session or at the beginning of the monthly cycle.

Session Details

Students utilize books, workbooks, and materials that Ms. Sandy shares through Google Docs. Sessions are conducted via phone or Google Meet. Participants must be able to access, open, and read documents in Google Docs on a computer. Materials may be printed for annotation and note-taking.

Reading alongside a partner or tutor ensures that even beginners will engage with the text. Often, achieving meaningful improvement is a matter of dedicated, consistent practice.
