About This Service

My name is Alec, and I operate from my personal studio in Pasadena, California, where I work as both an engineer and a drummer. I earned a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from California State University, Long Beach in 2019, where I was a student of Ted Atkatz, a musician with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. My drumming journey began with private lessons at age four. Throughout my youth, I performed across the state alongside my father, a bassist, continuing until I finished high school and departed for formal music studies.

Complementing my academic background, I performed as a drum set and timpani player with the internationally renowned Blue Devils B corps from 2014 to 2016. During that period, the ensemble secured two world championships and received two awards for best percussion. Subsequently, I handled live sound engineering duties for The Blue Devils organization.

I have approximately three years of experience in music instruction. For the majority of that time, I have focused particularly on students between the ages of seven and ten, guiding our youngest musicians to discover the happiness that music brings and the rewards of personal growth achieved through dedicated practice and perseverance.

I welcome students of all ages and every level of prior experience. I am certain I can assist you in reaching your desired milestones on your path as a drummer.
