CNC OPERATOR / PROGRAMMER

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time role for a CNC Engineer, Operator, and Programmer within a company specializing in high-end custom cabinetry and architectural millwork.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating and Programming

  • Collaborate with the Project Management and Production teams.
  • Stay updated on job schedules and requirements from clients, architects, designers, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Confirm dimensions and identify and resolve any issues with project managers before executing programs.
  • Adhere to company drafting templates and standards.
  • Operate and manage CNC machinery.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, B-Solid, and/or other relevant software applications.
  • Configure the machine for various operations, including nesting, pod setups, and 5-axis machining.
  • Provide innovative problem-solving solutions.
  • Possess the ability to write programs autonomously.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of woodworking principles and take pride in craftsmanship.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools.
  • Calibrate equipment and maintain clear communication with the office.
  • Interface with technical support services as needed.

Shop and Office

  • Participate in weekly production and scheduling meetings.
  • Work cooperatively and interact with team members both in the shop and the office.
  • Compose and reply to all emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide assistance with software-related IT support.
  • Assist in developing, ordering, and managing samples, templates, and prototypes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years of experience in cabinetmaking and drafting.
  • A minimum of three years of experience programming and operating CNC machinery.
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding shop drawings and architectural plans.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or other drafting software such as iX woodCAD|CAM, EnRoute, Biesse Works, or B-Solid.
  • Must be a multitasker, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow and adapt to project schedules and deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, diligent in note-taking, willing to ask questions, and able to offer recommendations.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation and a smartphone.
