Drafter and Expeditor (Van Nuys)

We are looking for a detail-oriented drafter proficient in creating plans using REVIT software, with a solid grasp of fundamental municipal codes and construction standards. This includes knowledge of items like minimum ceiling heights, required square footage, and local zoning ordinances.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of one year of practical Revit experience and the capability to generate precise drawings that adhere to all applicable codes. Confidence in traveling to construction sites to take measurements and subsequently develop scaled plans is essential.

Foundational mathematical skills are necessary for completing calculations during the planning phase. We value a problem-solving attitude, an initiative to seek clarification, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

This role also involves providing cross-departmental support as required. Associated responsibilities may encompass:

• Aiding with permit processing and expediting
• Attending meetings with municipal plan reviewers
• Delivering or collecting plans and revisions at city offices or client sites
• Helping with general administrative duties tied to project management and permitting

All travel undertaken for work purposes will be reimbursed at the prevailing IRS standard mileage rate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year of hands-on Revit experience (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of basic building codes and city planning rules
• Skill in producing accurately scaled architectural plans from site evaluations
• Access to a dependable personal vehicle
• Must be responsive, accountable, a quick study, and collaborative
• Willing to assume new responsibilities and assist other teams when necessary

You must have Revit installed on your computer and a reliable internet connection, as the assessment will require screen sharing and may be monitored. Those who succeed in the virtual assessment will be asked to attend an in-person interview at our Van Nuys location.
