Anajak is a neighborhood bistro with over four decades of history, offering Thai specialties alongside a distinguished wine selection. Chef Justin Pichetrungsi honors his father\'s legacy by preparing traditional recipes, while also hosting a chef collaboration-driven Thai Taco Tuesday and a seasonal multi-course Omakase menu. The kitchen at Anajak is distinctive for its three separate services:
- A La Carte Dining is available from Wednesday through Sunday. This classic service features the restaurant\'s enduring menu of curries, fried chicken, seasonal fish, and its signature wok-fired dishes. The extensive wine list highlights traditional and innovative selections from regions like the Mosel, Champagne, and Burgundy.
- Thai Taco Tuesday, or TTT. Originating during the pandemic, this weekly dining event presents a rotating menu of tacos, tostadas, and occasional chef collaborations. The service is held outdoors in the restaurant\'s alley.
- Omakase - Offered on the final weekend of each month. This is a relaxed, multi-course tasting menu held in the main dining room, showcasing seasonal market produce, seafood, meats, alliums, and ferments.

Job Summary
The Prep Cook will be tasked with preparing ingredients, cooking, and upholding the high-quality standards of the food and beverage department.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to proper food storage and handling protocols.
- Execute menu items from preparation to completion, including ingredient prep, protein butchery, and cooking.
- Uphold the company\'s established food quality standards.
- Perform precise culinary production, portion control, and service.
- Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and equipment.
- Stock and maintain adequate food supplies at the station for seamless service.
- Foster a safe and positive work environment.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
Qualifications
- Proficient food preparation and cooking skills.
- Experience in food service and customer service.
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items.
- Experience in a Thai cuisine restaurant is preferred.
Education
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of fine dining prep cook experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of diverse cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Must possess solid food product knowledge and skillfully apply culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking.
- A passion for food, exceptional work ethic, and dedication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Conversational English vocabulary.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
- Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong team-oriented approach with coworkers.
- Proficient knife skills and experience with kitchen equipment including:
- Charcoal/Wood burning Grill
- Burners
- Deep fryer
- Steamers
- Cryo-vac machines
- Scales
- Wok
