About This Job

We are seeking dedicated team players with a strong focus on guest service to join our thriving team.

Position Overview

Our Safety Hosts are essential to ensuring a positive guest experience, maintaining safety, and supporting the team. This role goes beyond simple greetings; you will help set the tone, manage the flow, and uphold the safety of the entire venue. Safety Hosts are primarily stationed at the entrance to welcome guests and check identification, but will also move throughout the dining area as required. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Guest Greeting and Engagement

    • Provide a warm, confident, and welcoming presence, as you create the first and last impression.
    • Example greeting: \"Hello! Welcome to 33 Taps. Please take any available table, as we have open seating. You may order using the QR code, with a server, or directly at the bar. We will bring your items to you. Please don\'t hesitate to ask if you need assistance.\"
    • Clearly explain the ordering process and inform guests that their orders will be delivered.
    • Politely ensure that restrooms are reserved for customers by inquiring if individuals are joining the establishment for food or drinks.
  2. Safety and Awareness

    • Guarantee that 33 Taps remains a secure and inviting environment at all times.
    • Remain vigilant regarding guest behavior, signs of excessive intoxication, or any disruptive activity. Never initiate physical contact; contact law enforcement if safety is threatened. Complete a detailed incident report for any occurrences.
    • Calmly and professionally de-escalate tense situations, requesting that problematic guests leave if necessary.
    • Maintain open communication with Management, Shift Leads, and fellow staff members.
    • Stay aware of all activity within the venue to protect the team, guests, and business.
    • Check identification for all guests upon entry and enforce venue policies, including: no outside food or beverages, restrooms are for guests only with a limit of one person per stall, and maintaining a safe occupancy level.
    • Safety Hosts must remain on the premises until all restaurant staff have left at the end of the night.
  3. Floor Support and Workflow

    • Assist with seating arrangements, matching parties of two to appropriate tables and maximizing seating during peak hours.
    • Help with clearing and cleaning tables, as well as delivering food.
    • Perform restroom checks to ensure cleanliness and supplies are maintained, adhering to the one-person-per-stall rule.
    • Keep the entire venue neat and prepared, assisting with stocking items as needed.
  4. Physical Requirements and Certifications

    • Adherence to the dress code is mandatory, requiring a well-groomed and fresh appearance.
    • A valid BSIS Guard Card is REQUIRED.
    • A valid California RBS certification is required. (The RBS certification may be obtained within 30 days of employment.)
    • This position may require performing physical tasks such as: climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for extended periods, walking, using stairs, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Summary

  • Offer a warm greeting to every guest and welcome them to 33 Taps.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient space by staying alert, visible, engaged, and helpful on the floor.
