A dynamic and expanding firm specializing in intellectual property and internet law is seeking a full-time, in-office Legal Assistant to support both litigation and transactional work. The role encompasses primary calendar and office management, preparation of legal documents, filings in State and Federal civil courts, light reception duties, and office filing. The position also involves paralegal-level legal research and investigation. Exceptional grammar, self-motivation, and a meticulous attention to detail are crucial for success. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the filing rules and calendaring requirements for Los Angeles, Orange County, and Federal courts. A minimum of two years of directly relevant legal assistant experience and ready familiarity with PACER and CM/ECF filing systems are required. Experience with Secretary of State filings is a plus. Experience
- Legal Secretary: 2 years (Required)

Schedule

Duties
- Civil Court filings
- Civil Document Preparation (pleadings, discovery, trial)
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Primary calendaring responsibility (CCP & FRCP Legal Deadlines)
- Legal document review and preparation (Table of Contents / Table of Authorities)
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette
- Perform data entry tasks to update client information
- Provide administrative support to lawyers, including scheduling and calendar management
Skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
- Proficiency in clerical duties, such as filing, scanning, and copying documents
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contract drafting and proofreading
- Familiarity with document management systems for efficient file organization
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective client interaction
- Data entry skills to input and update information accurately
- Administrative skills to assist lawyers with various tasks
