The ideal candidate will possess between two and five years of broad litigation experience and will receive training in probate, trust, conservatorship, and family law litigation. Job Description
Applicants are required to hold an active license with the State Bar of California. A minimum of two years of general litigation experience is essential, which must include drafting discovery requests, motions, and pleadings, along with a practical understanding of standard civil procedure. Strong communication abilities, proven experience in legal research and drafting memoranda, and proficiency with common office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook are necessary. The candidate should also be prepared to engage in practice development and participate in local bar association events.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Oversee all facets of family law, trust, probate, and conservatorship administration.
- Court Appearances: Advocate for clients in probate court hearings concerning family law, trust, and conservatorship issues.
- Legal Drafting: Prepare various legal documents, including petitions, pleadings, correspondence, and motions.
- Discovery: Manage the discovery process, including the drafting of and responses to interrogatories and requests for production.
- Client Communication: Maintain consistent contact with clients, offering updates and legal counsel.
- Research: Perform legal research to inform case strategy and court submissions.
- Litigation: Assist senior attorneys with trust and probate litigation cases.
Qualifications
- Experience: Two to five years of combined experience in family law, trust, probate, and conservatorship law.
- Education: A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Skills: Robust legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities. Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Must be exceptionally organized and attentive to detail.
