CNC Set-up / Machinist Position

SRCO Inc is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill an immediate vacancy for a CNC Set-Up Technician and Machinist role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the selected individual will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC DOOSAN lathes and CNC OKUMA MC4VA 3-axis and 4-axis milling machines.
• Conduct first-article and in-process inspections. Confirm parts meet all specified drawing dimensions using precision measurement tools including calipers. Proficiency with a full range of inspection equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, and thread and pin gauges is essential.
• Must demonstrate skill in installing and setting tool lengths, as well as indicating vises and fixtures with both speed and precision. Experience working with tight tolerances under .001 is required.
• Execute production runs and prepare machine set-ups for other operators.
• Report any machine performance or manufacturing concerns to supervisory staff. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Possess effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competence in interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to comprehend and adhere to job traveler instructions.
• Willingness to seek clarification when uncertain; candidates who believe they have no need for further learning need not apply.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be capable of reading and accurately understanding blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Previous experience with Mastercam programming is not mandatory but is considered a strong asset.
• Strong practical shop mathematics and inspection skills.
• Hands-on experience with Okuma and Fanuc machine controls is necessary.

Experience:

A minimum of seven years of directly related machining experience is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
