Applicants are required to live in California. For exceptionally qualified individuals, remote work arrangements may be possible, with the expectation of traveling to campus occasionally—approximately one to two times annually—for specific events or training sessions.

Position Overview

The Senior PeopleSoft Developer must possess practical expertise in PeopleSoft development tools and methodologies, such as App Engine, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, Fluid UI development, and Web Services. Proficiency in system analysis, design, testing, and problem resolution is also crucial. This role involves close partnership with functional analysts to ensure rigorous system validation and detailed documentation of all development activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Create and implement specialized technical modifications or integrations for university enterprise systems within the PeopleSoft HCM framework, with potential expansion into Campus Solutions and Finance modules.
  2. Collaborate with business analysts to assess the feasibility of new enhancement requests, evaluating various approaches and their implications for system upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
  3. Support the design and creation of new processes, conduct all technical testing phases, and aid functional analysts in organizing user acceptance testing, training, and documentation.
  4. Deliver advanced troubleshooting for production issues promptly. Contribute to user training and the development of support documentation at all levels.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in developing and modifying PeopleSoft applications, ranging from standard to complex.
  • Direct experience supporting a PeopleSoft Human Resources, Payroll, and Time and Labor 9.2 environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, a related field, or an equivalent blend of education and professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of App Designer, App Engine, Integration Broker, SQL, Object-Oriented PeopleCode, BI Publisher, Component Interfaces, the Event Mapping Framework, and SQR.
  • Excellent technical writing ability and experience preparing non-technical project materials like timelines and status updates.
  • Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Fluid development and migrating from the classic interface.
  • Understanding of cross-departmental IT projects and the capacity to grasp operational workflows across different units.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze information, consider options, and make sound decisions or recommendations.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and associated management tools.
  • Proven competency using the Microsoft Office Suite and various operating systems.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with a diverse range of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively amidst interruptions, distractions, and a variable workload.
